The 8th Skill to Hit 100 and Then Some

New Guild Map Exploration! I've just done an exploration write-up for a 15th guild map. This time it's Ozu! that got the treatment.

"Only" 4 more skills left that haven't hit a 3-digit number. Yeah, it's really an arbitrary goal considering 100 is just over 2% of the experience to maximum 179. I prefer not to think about that. ;-)

But since the last update, I did some school power-leveling for several more levels to hit 100 in Crafting.

Sponsored School Day

You advanced to level 97-100 of crafting!

Crafting 100

And with that, more God changes. Though two of the 4 skills left do not have gods, so new god thinking is more where they'll help most as I work on these 4 skills. Primary work is now focused on magic, and summoning. Tailoring and Ranging being worked on as best options to do so occur.

Otherwise, I've also taken myself out of the possibility of doing 140-limit invasions as both att and def are now 141.

You advanced to level 141 of attack!

Attack 141

The overall levels continue to roll in at their slow, slow speed as I get closer to the 179 limit...

Your overall level is now 172!

Overall 172

Being the number one alchemist is apparently not enough as well, I gotta continue to work on it in order to keep that spot. ;-)

You advanced to level 142 of alchemy!

Alchemy 142

Potion really hasn't been worked on, mostly just mixing what I need, be it creature food and its required extracts, or stocking my SRs.

You advanced to level 115 of potion!

Potion 115

I really do need to focus more on Summoning, seeing as I have the god, but recent times I've been off the game more often than on and unable to focus on it. I do of course continue doing the daily for it...

You advanced to level 79 of summoning!

Potion 115

I don't do invasions often... I'll sometimes search for stragglers in portal invasions so others can kick them or such, but I may start getting more involved in them later as I'm wanting to put my ranging to use. In a Melinis invasion not long back, I sat on the wall pinning a motherload of stuff to make it easier for the fighters to walk around and pick off critters. Once it was getting clear I spent some time ranging a few pinned ones, solo.

Pinned Invaders

Ranging Invaders

Oh yeah, started the last armor break quest, though I haven't been fighting enough to actually get it done at any good speed. I did, however, have my first break while doing a yeti daily.

Broken Red Dragon Helm

And finally, the most expensive leveling I've ever done... started White Wizard Hats in the school on tailoring days. Once you're able to successfully mix 2 or more of the 22 or 23 that can be carried to the school in one trip, those become the cheapest method to level in the school despite all the critical fails.

So around level 76 I started mixing them in the school, despite them having a recommended level of 89. And it's working, albeit painfully. Since my last update, there's been two tailoring days that I was online to take advantage of at least partially, and 7 levels came from those.

You advanced to level 78-84 of tailoring!

Tailoring 84

Pear hunts have continued, when I've felt like it. Honestly they don't hold much interest for me anymore, especially now that the market for them is seriously dead. Radu really needs to give them another use as the Big Book market, which they were primarily used for, isn't anywhere near as big as it once was. If I hunt, it's more out of boredom now, the need to do something different than harv and mix. The count is now up to 874 finds. While I'd like to hit 1000 before I "retire" from it, cost effectiveness is a huge factor at this point, and unless the market changes for them, that's not gonna happen. I honestly can't recommend anyone get into the hunting game at this point, as you're going to find yourself losing gc in the long run.

700 Pear Finds, Alch 141, Invances, and So On

Just a few things happening...

New Guild Map Exploration

I've been very slow putting these up. Plenty more ready to go but I just haven't gotten around to them.

But I added a new one now... this time it's Legends of the Empire - ~LE~ I've invaded. ;-)

You can, of course, see all the available guild map explorations I've done so far on the top of the right column on this page.

700 Pears and Counting

Today I hit the 700 mark in number of pears found. Shit, that's a lotta time wasted hunting fruit. ;-)

The Eternal #1 Alchemist

So last time I tied with giove for the number one position. This time, I take seat as the first person to hit 141 in alchemy.

You advanced to level 141 of alchemy!

Invances, Hand Issues, and the Mason

Kept going to invances...

Invance

Invance
However, my hand issues (sometimes difficult to control my hand as well as I used to) was leading to a few too many bricks at once, and I had to stop again. Maybe more in the future, we'll see. Meanwhile, this happened...

Invance

Yay? An achievement.

Playing with Chickens and Stuff

No-break day led me to WVF where I used a double-spawn to farm Big Chicken feathers. For a while, had to go to bed after a couple hours.

But not before testing my abilities on a single chicken for a while.

Big Chicken

Day of Invasions

Out of boredom, I hit a few invasions during a recent day of invasions. Played with Japitas and Nasps.

And the Levels Will Rock

Finally, of course, alchemy wasn't the only level. I took the potion god a while back but of the three gods, it's the lowest of my priorities. I will later do some power-leveling of it, but the other two take enough of my time at the moment.

Though, summoning being one of those, I do have to mass-produce SRs. And here, I was doing a huge creature food stock since I still regularly use that.

You advanced to level 114 of potion!

Potion 114

As well, another Engineering day led to another several hours poofing treasure finders in the engineering school, for over 40k experience per minute...

You advanced to level 115 of engineering!

Engineering 115

And finally, more dailies (besides my chicken hunts and invances) led to more defense.

You advanced to level 139 of defense!

Defense 139

That would be it for this time... Currently working on stocking for both crafting and summoning. No expectation of another level the next few days at least, though it's not out of the question.

Got My First Real Armor Master, the Summon of 69

...Seriously stretching that old Bryan Adams tune there...

Breaking the Armor

Well, it takes a while, but the armor breaking quests can be done without any use of PVP/brod. Helms can be annoying if used to always wearing CoL. But I can handle up to MCWs without one. (I currently train on Frost Trolls when I do rare training. Those need a CoL... which sucks since they're good at breaking stuff.)

Primary breakers have been Phantom Warriors, Forest Chims, and Mountain Chims. Though I've had a few items break on random critters like a falcon.

Having noted what was breaking things the most, with those three specific creatures in mind, Ruins of Tirnym became a place to go. When on red astro, I'd go there wearing break-needed armor and a break-needed weapon. PWs I'd do without a weapon, giving them more chance to break the armor, while the chims would be done with weapon to give the weapons a break chance. (Only 1 weapon left on the first weapon break quest.)

Tit Helm was the last piece to break, and it took a while to break it. But it did finally happen.

Armor Perk

Under Attack

Training is again rare these days, but the dailies continue. So a/d levels do come, just very slowly.

You advanced to level 136 of attack!

Attack 136

The Summon of 69

Taking full advantage of at least 2 of the gods I recently switched to of all 3.

Following the continued plan of mixing spider stones on normal days at the gypsum, returning with those and extra gypsum to storage that is saved for Day of Summoners.

Bought some tiger furs, and as well spent time collecting them in NRM on the triple spawn. Those get used on Summon Day.

This has led to three summon levels since last update. Could have been more but also been focusing on other skills.

You advanced to level 67-69 of summoning!

Summoning 69

Slow Motion Potion

The 1 god I haven't focused as much on of the three I recently switched to is potion. The other two skills are really my priority at the moment, while Potion is more of a long-term plan.

Mixing SRs for summon stones has been the primary leveler. Though I did one school day when out of crafting supplies head to the potion school to finish off a level.

You advanced to level 113 of potioning!

Potion 113

Power Crafting

Polished Saps in the school, along with ring mixing for personal use (and sold some on my bot) were the start when I returned to this skill.

But I've reached a point where, even with pretty high fail rate, it's still cheaper and faster-exp/min to mix blank paper in the school on school day than it is polished saps.

So I've switched to that. Lots of wood stocking of late, and of course mixing of WEs... something I refused to mix when I was still working on my alch level, but now that I'm not caring about that I don't care what essies I mix. And it's made for another change of pace from past play.

But back on track: Crafting has gotten my heaviest attention, as of the 3 gods I just took, I expect it to be the first I in the distant future switch off.

Several school days where I fortunately had already stocked (mostly) for when they appeared led to many levels here.

You advanced to level 75-80 of crafting!

Crafting 80

Moving On

I do tend to do a lot of random stuff, to avoid the boredom of doing just the same planned thing all day, every day, but I do keep plans.

1- More wood and WE stocking to prep for school day.
2- Mixing LEs/SRs for stock to do more summon stones
3- Continuing to break other stuff on red astro (esp. via Tirnym)
3a- With that, stocking up S2Es from PWs for distant future hydro runs
4- Various things to earn gc, since currently the only income other than random critter drops is selling the summon stones I mix. Need a bit more than that.

Alch 137, OA 163, and More Than a Bit More

Figgered it's time to stop my laziness and update...

Pears R Us

Yeah, the hunts continue. However I'm probably hunting less than half the time that I used to, thus my name showing up less. Real life calls, and as well when I'm actually playing there are times I prefer to continue working on a project instead. Pears don't create levels after all. (Though they do help pay for things like School Day stones, hehe.)

Current count is 382 pears found.

The Gods Must Be... Used

Current gods being alchemy, manufacturing, and magic, I've of coursed been leaning heavily on those skills.

Alchemy - Tons of essies are required for Magic, so I've gotten a lot of experience from that. As well as mixing for other things, like self-crafting my ring stash.

As well, stockpiling magic essie ings for School Days, of which I've personally used 5 stones for since the last update. Some for manu, some for alch.

You advanced to level 136 and 137 of alchemy!

Alchemy 137

Magic - A difficult skill to level when you're not using any form of PvP in gameplay, thus the method most use, mana draining each other, is not an option.

I have made my levels without that, and plan to hit a goal level of 100 without resorting to it either.

So how? I explored all the spells that don't require other people to use, and checked their experience-per-gc to see which were the most cost-efficient. From there I weighed in time factors... speed of power-using the spell with mana limitations, time to mix all the necessary essences and SR potions, and so on.

I came up with 3 spells I'd primarily level with...
1- Magic Immunity - Best exp/gc that doesn't require another person.
2- True Sight - More expensive, but much faster experience due to less mana used and much more experience per spell. Stock for this when I can for use on Magic Days, though generally use MI.
3- Mana Drain - Not in any PvP sense, I've taken to using MD when kicking FCWs. This is a 3rd option that runs far behind the first 2, as I don't feel like doing this often. But it does end up being an inexpensive option thanks to FCW drops. Mostly pays for itself and then some.

At any rate... since last update:

You advanced to level 82-84 of magic!

Magic 84

Manufacturing - The third god skill. A goal of 100 still to be achieved, but it's slowly getting there. I figure 3 more full school days should be enough to accomplish that, it's just a matter of affording and stocking the leather/thread.

Though occasionally I have taken the Trik route, for some slower but much cheaper experience.

You advanced to level 93-96 of manufacturing!

The Overall Experience

Managed two more Overall levels since the last update, something not easily gotten at these levels.

Your overall level is now 162-163!

You advanced to level 64-66 of ranging!

You advanced to level 68-69 of tailoring!

Crafting 72

For potion and crafting, those were the first time I've leveled those in quite a long while. Neither has any focus for now, just mixing potions for myself, and crafting rings for myself. That eventually led to these levels. Both will have much more focus after a few god changes.

What got left out? Summoning... Big plans for that soon enough (again after god changes), don't wanna waste ings before I get the god so I am doing some stocking for it. Engineering is completely off my radar for now though, although I will poof amber on an engineering day in the school as it stockpiles. Not stupid enough to ignore that killer experience.

Future plans:
1- Pear hunts as I feel like it or have time, less than before but still regular.
2- Power-level alchemy until I reach my goal and switch that to crafting god.
3- Power-level manufacturing (3 more school days as I can afford them) to drop it and take summoning god.
4- Continue doing what I can on magic, not expecting to reach my goal on it anytime soon, but slow and steady will help continue to poof up the level.
5- Um... seriously, that's enough. I have other things I do, but those are the only real plans.

Ooops, Burn returned, hehe

Spent 6 months away... comp died, leaving me with only a laptop that couldn't handle EL, and a lack of funds to get a better comp that I could play on. Well, that's finally dealt with!

Day 2 of my return now. It took me quite a while just to try and remember what I was doing before I left, as well as catch up on everything new. Frost trolls... haven't tried them yet but look interesting.

New perk Dedicated Harvester - at only 10kgc, no pickpoints needed, and the fact that I never harvest without a harv medallion, this was a no-brainer to immediately take.

Hello Lenny! - While trying to regain my bearings, getting used to the maps and what to wear and kicking critters and mixing and stuff, I decided to go for a stroll at night on c2 and see if I could find my favorite kitty. He died before we could play long though... :-(

Lenny Kill number 89

First Level in half a year! - Was close to a harv level, and the triple harv exp day showed up. Combined with the new Dedicated Harvester perk and a rare sitting at dung, I quickly hit it.

You advanced to level 109 of harvest!

Harvesting 109

The Potioner in Me - I finally figured out what I was doing in December the long way... I needed to stock leather, thread, and wine. Things I usually do via mule, but I noticed I was out of creature food. I decided to make creature food, only to notice I already had all the flowers to mix 3k of it. Aha, that's what I was working on!

So I mixed those, and muled up to stock up. Today, I added to that by stocking my SRs (2k) and mixing some BRs for gc since I had the ings for them (and I was close to leveling after the CF/extract mixing).

You advanced to level 110 of potion!

Potion 110

Where to go from here? Well, I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things, so focusing mostly on stocking needed supplies, by purchase or by mixing. My gods lie in alchemy, potion, and manu so I'll be looking mostly at those three skills, though I'm considering getting some levels in a few others. I would like to get all skills 50+, which would mean 3 more ranging levels and 9 more in tailoring, but at least the latter would take a while due to cost.

The Big Catch-Up- OA 152 and More

Hmmm, been around 3 months since my last entry. Play has mostly been just a couple hours each day with occasional longer days, with at least one hour of those devoted to dailies.

Focus has been very heavy on alchemy, with my Health Essence count now at over 700,000 mixes on stats.

A secondary on potions since I wanna actually get some usage of that goddess. I try to get some SR/BR mixing time in when I can.

Would really like to aim for "all skills 50+", which would mean 3 more ranging and 9 more tailoring levels. But I just haven't had time to work on them so much. Only 1 level in each since my last post for that matter.

Currently dead skills are summoning and engineering. Crafting technically though I do sometimes mix rings, especially my precious Naralik rings which I use by the truckload since Naralik is my home. I'll eventually work on these skills again of course, a Jack of All Trades can't help it, heh.

Okay, the screenies of most of the achievements the past couple months... A lot but feels like a few considering the passed time. They're just much harder to get these days plus limited play time.
